  • Memoirs of an imperfect angel

The album name is very descriptive, and so is the cover art. The release date was October 5th, 2018, which makes it a perfect time to go out and buy this album! This song has many meanings in its lyrics: “I’ve been through hell/and I’m still breathing.” It also talks about how Mariah’s life has not been easy at all times (like when she lost her father or during her childhood) but she never gave up on herself or God because she had faith in him even though things were hard for her!

  • “Candy Bling” is about a woman who is in love with someone who doesn’t love her back. She wants to win his heart, but he just doesn’t see it that way anymore.
  • The lyrics are simple, but they’re also very relatable:

Now I wish I could go back and make time stop
I would take this love throwback from the top

4. Inseparable

Inseparable is a song by American singer and songwriter Mariah Carey from her twelfth studio album, Memoirs of an imperfect angel (2009). It was written by Carey, Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox, with Dupri solely producing the track. The song was released as the album’s lead single on January 23, 2010 in Europe and on February 27 in North America through Island Records; its digital EP single was released worldwide on March 14.[2][3]

The lyrics describe a relationship where one person is unable to let go of another who has left them.[4]

Inseparable debuted at number ninety-nine on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for this week ending March 6th[5].

See it’s broken my heart to the point where I don’t need it
Has no reason now to beat ’cause I just ain’t the same without you

5. Standing O

The first song on the album, “Standing O” is about a man being a performer. He was wearing a mask of being a great guy. The song starts off with Mariah Carey singing about how the love was sublime. She sings: “

And boy I gave you all of me
Parts of affection you couldn’t see
As you embrace her in your arms give her my all
Give her more than you gave to me

When you had nothing I gave
When you were weak I made you brave
You went and leave me with the scars on my heart
It’s funny how ya’ll forget it all”

6. It’s a wrap

  • It’s a wrap

The song is about Mariah is choosing herself. She reached her breaking point and knows there’s better out there which is full of love and happiness. She has been through many ups and downs The lyrics are simple but they tell us everything we need to know about this experience: “Let me take a breathe (Let me take a breathe)
And regain my composure
Told you one more time (Told you one more time)
If you f’d up its over.”

7. Up out my face

This song sounds like a good one to dance to. It’s got a great beat that you can’t help but move your body to, and it’s got lyrics that will have you singing along in no time. If you’re looking for something upbeat and fun, this is the perfect choice for your next party!

8. Up out my face remix featuring nicki minaj

“Up out my face” is a song by rapper Nicki Minaj, featuring Mariah Carey. It was released as the fourth single from her album The Pinkprint on November 16, 2014. The song’s chorus interpolates an earlier song of Carey’s, “Vision of Love”, with lines lifted directly from its chorus (such as “I’m up out my face / With your love”).

The remix version features both singers’ vocals and other musicians performing additional instrumentation on top of their respective verses; it also includes new lyrics from each artist.

9. More than just friends

This song is about her getting back out there and remembering her worth. She’s found a guy she’s interest in and wants to be more than friends.

10. The impossible

The song is about a relationship that is not going to work out and the lyrics are about the struggle of being in a relationship, which isn’t going anywhere. This song is about being stuck in an endless cycle of thinking about him.

The Impossible is one of my favorite songs on this album because it reminds me of when I first met the first guy I fell in love with- we were both not prepared for falling and it was an experience! I had all these daydreams about him.

We were two little people wrapped up in this big old world
Drifting round in space out of place just a boy and girl
Then you took my hand and made me a part of you
And I looked in your heart
And saw all my dreams come true

Takeaway:

This is the one of the best albums Mariah Carey has ever released, and it’s a great one for anyone who likes R&B. The songs are all good to varying degrees, but “Angels Cry” is easily the best track on here.

Conclusion

The album is about a relationship, and it’s not just the typical songs about two lovers falling in love. It’s more like an actual memoir, where you can see Mariah looking back on her past relationships and how they were like old friends who had drifted apart over time. She reflects on them all with a sense of fondness and longing for what could have been if things had gone differently.

It’s really beautiful to hear these songs because it reminds me of my experiences with men where we met at school or work, but eventually broke up due to distance or other reasons (which usually isn’t very romantic). However, I always felt like there was something special between us because no matter how long apart we became—whether it was one year or five years—we would always find our way back together again eventually whether just crossing paths or as friends!
