“There are two kinds of evil people in this world. Those who do evil stuff and those who see evil stuff being done and don’t try to stop it.”
—Janis Ian
Hey loves welcome back to Joi’s Journey of Perception.
As you can tell by the title, I will be talking about a topic that many girls love. The movie gave us girls a cultural reset. Mean Girls. This movie has so many quotable lines and will brighten up anyone’s day. Today I wanted to talk about the few lessons that we can learn from the movie.
- The Best Decision I Ever Made for My Growth: Letting Go of the People Holding Me Back
- The Healing Power of Grandma’s Cooking:
- Things I Used to Do That Would’ve Lost Me Every Time
- Dating Like It’s a Game vs. Loving Like It’s Real
- How to Make Him Leave Without Saying a Word
1. Don’t force yourself to be someone you’re not.
In the movie, you will see that the man character, Cady, completely lost who she was because she had not done the inner work to build her esteem up confidently.
2. As you find out who you are, You may stray away from your friends (outgrow them)
This is just a life lesson, but as we grow older, and find the things we like and don’t like. We may not be as close to those friends that we grew up with. There is no beef, you just realize that there are too many differences for your taste and you guys go your separate ways.
3. How You get them is how you lose them
This should be a lesson that all women should learn. The way you get a man rather it be, you being the side chick, or scamming him, that is exactly how you will lose him. Do not think you personally can change his character. Although Cady ended with him, there was a point in the movie, where she lost him for a second. Just be yourself.
4.Karma Happens to teach us a Lesson
I have already spoken on this topic. But let’s just say Regina needed the lesson of karma. I will link that post below.
5. Stop letting men get in the way of what can be amazing relationships.
Ladies, we have got to stop doing this. We already get put down by society enough. Stop putting a man who we can’t guarantee that he’ll be there forever. Cherish platonic relationships as much as you cherish romantic ones.
What’s a lesson you learned from Mean Girls?
Let me know in the comments below!
I hope you enjoyed this post of one of my favorite movies. It is definitely a must-watch. Today is Sunday, the chill day of the week. Give it a watch.
