My Definition of Romantic: Putting Feeling into Words

Daily writing prompt
What’s your definition of romantic?

When people ask, “What’s your definition of romantic?”
I don’t think of grand gestures, candlelit dinners, or handwritten cards (though I’ll never say no to any of those).

For me, being romantic is being emotionally fluent
It’s having the courage to feel deeply and the grace to put those feelings into words.

✍🏽 Romance Lives in Expression

To me, romance isn’t just about what you do. It’s about what you’re willing to say.
It’s about opening your chest and saying, “Here’s my heart and here’s the language it speaks.”

That’s why I believe writing is one of the most romantic acts we can do.

Because when you write something…a letter, a line, a poem. You’re offering someone a piece of your internal world. A glimpse of your mind, your wounds, your desires, your softness.

You’re choosing to be seen and that’s intimacy.

🖋️ Poetry Is My Love Language

My entire life, I’ve found romance in pen and page.

The way a single line can hold more weight than a conversation.
Also, the way metaphors let you confess things your voice won’t say out loud.
The way writing allows you to romanticize pain and turn it into power.

That’s the energy I pour into my poetry books.
Whether I’m writing about heartbreak, self-discovery, desire, or womanhood. It all comes from that same place of emotional honesty.

🌹 My poetry is where I love out loud. Softly and unapologetically.

📚 If You’ve Ever Felt Too Much, My Books Are For You

When I started publishing my poetry, I wasn’t just sharing words.
I was sharing the most romantic parts of me. The way I love, the way I grieve, the way I see the world as layered, feminine, and worth writing about.

Some of my favorite pieces are written like love letters:

  • To my younger self
  • To the women who feel invisible
  • To the version of me who still believed in fairy tales
  • And yes, sometimes to him. The one who made it hard to breathe and easy to write

If you’ve ever loved in silence, if you’ve ever wanted to be understood, or if you’ve ever needed to remember that softness is strength
my books are for you.

🕊️ Sincerely Yours and Emerging Wings
Each one holds pieces of my heart, and I hope they mirror pieces of yours too.

🌿 Romance Isn’t Always Loud. Sometimes, It’s a Whisper on a Page

Being romantic doesn’t have to mean being perfect.
It means choosing to feel anyway, and having the courage to say, “This is how I see love. This is how I give it.”

And for me? I give love through my words.
Through rhythm. Through vulnerability. And through pages that hold truths I’d never dare say out loud. But still somehow need to be heard.

💌 Final Thoughts: Write It Out, Love It In

If no one told you today:
Your ability to feel deeply is a gift.
Your softness is your strength.
Your love, whether expressed, hidden, or written down. Is still real.

So go ahead. Be romantic. Not just in who you love. But in how you love.

And if you ever want to read what love looks like in my world, my books are waiting to wrap you in the same warmth they gave me while writing them.
