“WITH THE CRISPNESS OF FALL, COMES A SENSE OF CHANGE – AND THE CHANGE TO MIX UP YOUR LOOK.” -XXMK
It’s time to start preparing your closets for autumn as we get closer to fall and the weather becomes more bipolar. Since it isn’t too hot nor too cold during this time of year, it is my favorite season. The mood around this time of year is better. Dressing up at this time is much simpler and more fun, according to me. During the Summer you need to dress to remain cool, while during the Winter you need to stay warm. Therefore, I am always looking for trends (colors and patterns), so do not be surprised by the things I mention.
So, in this post, I am going to give you an idea of a few pieces that you should have in your closet, and how you can dress them up or down. Let’s get started!
- Comfy and Cute socks
Now I know you’re wondering why. And part of me feels the same way at times, just because I have a love/hate relationship for socks. But you would be surprised a how well these pieces can tie an outfit together, especially in the Fall. Whether you wear them with sweats or with a nice dress. You can look like you actually put some effort.
2. Anything Leather!
Now I know what you’re think! We’re stepping back into the 90s? Let’s be honest, name a trend that hasn’t already been done…I’ll wait. So rather it be a leather jacket, shorts with tights, boots or dress. This material will give you a different type of vibe.
3. Neutral color Boots
These boots can go with anything and look like you put some effort in your outfit. And if you’re short like me, they give you some height without hurting your feet, because the heels are chunky. These with some jeans and a chunky sweater are a look.
4. The infamous Jean Jacket
I am an advocate for the jean jacket because you can and I have put it with different things. It also can go over a hoodie with leggings, so you don’t have to put on the heavy coat depending on the weather condition. Whether its dark wash or light wash, this piece is great to hav in your closet just because you can wear it year round.
5. Chunky Sweater
These things are so comfortable, I don’t care what anyone says. They go with jeans and chunky boots or a skirt. They aren’t expensive depending where you go and they somewhat show a sense of your personality.
A few of these next things are going to be repeats from my other post because they never go out of style.
6. Rain boots and rain jacket
These items are necessary in this season because in certain locations it rains a lot. You can even were them in the snow. Some are comfortable depending on the ones that you purchase.
7. Pair of sneakers
Again, I am not a huge fan of tennis shoes. I usually only wear them when I have to. Like to the gym or an amusement park. But you will love having a cute pair for days you go to a haunted house, bonfire, or pumpkin patch. TTennies are a good thing to have in your closet period. Some do look right with a certain dress, but please don’t be that person who wears them with the wrong type of outfit. Everything is not a look!
I am a huge sunglasses person. So much so that I wear them year round. Not only are they necessary when it comes to protecting your eyes, but they also pull a look together. Whether they’re high end or cheap from Urban outfitters. Get a pair!
9. Turtle necks
I don’t care what anyone says. I’ve been wearing turtle necks all my life and not only are they comfortable but they’re stylish as well. Pair them with leggings, jeans, or a skirt.
Leggings are the best thing to ever be created. You can be dressy or dressed down. They even come in leather, which is another 2019 style. Depending on the kind that you get, they’re not too expensive either.
A list of colors that are in this Fall:
Just because it’s fall does not mean that you cannot play with colors. Switch it up a bit and have fun.
