Why Creativity is My Favorite Trait

If there’s one thing I can say with confidence about myself, it’s that I’m deeply grateful for my creativity. Out of all my traits: my drive, my resilience, my compassion. Creativity feels like the one that has carried me the furthest and helped me discover who I really am.

Creativity has been the lens I view the world through. It’s what keeps me inspired when things feel dull, what pushes me to dream bigger when others say to play it safe, and what helps me turn pain, joy, and everything in between into art. Writing, fashion, poetry, and even the way I express myself day-to-day all flow from that creative spark. It’s the gift that allows me to take ordinary things and shape them into something meaningful.

Why Creativity is My Favorite Trait

My Full Circle Moment

Recently, I had one of those full-circle moments that reminded me just how important this part of me really is: I attended my very first author fair.

Walking into that room surrounded by fellow authors, readers, and creators felt surreal. To sit at a table with my own books displayed, to watch people stop, pick them up, and connect with words that once lived only in my journals. It was humbling and empowering all at once. Nor was it just about selling books. It was about standing in the truth of who I am: a writer, a creator, a storyteller.

Once only dreamed of.

That day reminded me that creativity is not just a trait. It’s my anchor, my safe space, and my bridge to others. It’s what helped me heal, what helped me grow, and what continues to open doors I once only dreamed of.

So yes, if you asked me my favorite thing about myself, I’d say without hesitation: my creativity. Because it’s the trait that has shaped my journey, led me to milestones like my first author fair, and continues to remind me that the imagination I’ve nurtured all these years is powerful enough to take me places I never thought I’d go.
