If you could go back and whisper one truth to your younger self, what would it be?
I’ve thought about this question often, and my answer always comes back to the same thing: you don’t have to earn your worth.

The Trap of Trying to Be “Enough”
For so long, I believed that my value came from what I could do for other people. The grades I got. The way I looked. The role I played in friendships and relationships. I thought if I worked hard enough, loved hard enough, or bent myself into the right shape, then I’d finally be accepted and secure.
But the truth is: that’s a treadmill that never stops. No matter how much you give, someone will always expect more. And while you’re busy proving yourself to others, you forget how to honor yourself.

What Changed for Me
At some point, exhaustion caught up. I realized that the people who truly love me don’t need me to be perfect, or productive, or endlessly accommodating. They just want me to be me. And the people who only stick around for what I can provide? They were never my people in the first place.
The shift was subtle but powerful: I stopped asking, “Am I enough for them?” and started asking, “Are they enough for me?”

The Lesson I Carry Now
I wish I had learned earlier that worth isn’t something to chase. It’s something you already have. Your presence, your perspective, your story, your being… that’s the gift.
Life feels different when you stop fighting for a seat at tables where you’re only tolerated, and instead start building spaces where you are celebrated.

Your Turn
What’s a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life? Maybe it’s about love, friendships, confidence, or setting boundaries. Whatever it is, I’d love to hear it. Drop it in the comments below.
