Was it justified? Maybe. Was it professional? Does it matter? I know many of you may be wondering what my opinion is. I had to sit and ponder π
Hey loves and welcome back to Joi’s Journey of Perception. This weekend was eventful. But what many people are talking about is the altercation, not even the fashion which I will talk about as well. So be sure you are subscribed.
Letβs jump into it! Above was the video from the incident and many including myself thought it was scripted. That is until we saw the reactions. People in the audience looked confused including the person who was slapped. Now letβs talk about the real issue.

Many celebrities weβre defending Chris for his jokes. Itβs funny how itβs βJust a jokeβ until someone close to you is the punch line. Often Black women are the butt of everyone’s joke. At this, even Chris happens to make a joke about a sensitive subject for Jada. This is where “you never know what someone is going through behind closed doors” comes to play. As a comedian, there needs to be a place where we draw the line. Just because you find something funny, doesn’t mean others do. Poking fun at someone’s insecurities is never okay.
Jada’s Insecurity Exposed
Celebs Opioions
There are many celebrities that have an opinion on the action that was done. Some of them I agree with while others I think they shouldβve just kept their comments to themselves. I honestly respect Will Smith for sticking up for his wife. It is very often that people expect someone to sit in silence while being ridiculed in front of a live audience. If youβre going to insult me standing what you said and that you get the repercussions of what youβve done.
I really hate that you guys are making me side with Nicki Minaj. But a womanβs hair is her crown. Thatβs where a lot of her security is. Unfortunately, when you lose it you feel like you lose a sense of yourself. This is why I can agree with Nicki Minaj.
The lesson here is respecting peoples boundaries. You could read Jadaβs body language that she did not enjoy the joke and that was his cue to stop. He did not. And her husband stuck up for her. I respect him. Because most guys would just listen and make fun of their wife.

Iβm so sorry that this is the first post I did about the Oscars. Usually, I do a fashion post of my favorite and least favorite outfits. Which will be coming to you tomorrow. I just wanted to talk about the elephant in the room. Now that weβve all learned something from this night letβs move forward. I wanna know what you all think of the situation. Let me know in the comments below. Also be sure to like, comment, share, and subscribe.
